Much has happened to me the last few months and I would like to take a minute to thank just a few of the many people that have helped me in this time.
Amazing how I always look better with lovely women at my side! This is Catie and Nichole, two therapist at the VA in Augusta.
On Tuesday, September 27th, Alex was discharged from Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to the VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
I want to let everyone know that I will be leaving The Shepherd Center tomorrow morning for the VA in Augusta, Georgia. I will be working there to continue my recovery.
Wednesday, August 24th will be the end of my third week at The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, https://www.shepherd.org, one of the country’s finest spinal cord injury rehabilitation centers. I am at the start of a long journey that, hopefully, will result in the recovery of the use of my limbs. Progress will be slow, but I have the patience and the perseverance to fight this journey.
Today is exactly one month since Alex had surgery for his accident and he reached BIG milestone today. He was transferred to Shepherd Center, a rehab facility with a special focus on spinal cord injuries, in Atlanta to begin his rehabilitation! This is a world class center with highly trained professionals and we are all very excited about this BIG step forward. His transport, by an air-ambulance, went very smoothly and he & Linda arrived at Shepherd this afternoon.
Now that Alex is more alert and involved in his own care, he has asked that we update his friends as to his condition. Below is a summary of what happened to him and an update on his recovery. Please continue to pray for him and Linda. — Thanks, Beth
Thanks to everyone for continuing your prayers and concerns for Alex and Linda during this challenging time. They both are drawing strength from the outpouring of love shown to them.
