Medical Update – October 10, 2011
On Tuesday, September 27th, Alex was discharged from Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to the VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. For those who aren’t in the know, Alex served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and elected not to take advantage of his benefits before now; thus allowing others who might have more need, to have access. We learned yesterday that Alex will remain at the VA until mid December. They prepared an extensive rehabilitation program for him, started him on it this past Monday and he’s already made improvements; makes him even more determined to put the hard work in that is needed of him.
Now that he’s settling in to the next phase of his recovery, he’s ready for the company of friends and fans, so if anyone is in or near Augusta OR wants to take a road trip, please let us know. You can send an email to Alex through his website or to firstname.lastname@example.org. He’s typically busy from 9:00-5:00 pm Monday through Friday, so the evenings are the best time to visit during the week and the weekends are wide open.
