Live at the Sawmill
About Live at the Sawmill
There were two recordings that he didn’t share with his fan base before he died. After months of careful thought and consideration, I decided I would be remiss if I didn’t offer these to his fans and friends.
The first, “Live at the Sawmill” was recorded by a friend of his, Jim Scales, back in 1975 when he was entertaining audiences at “The Sawmill”, an upscale restaurant in Pasadena, California. As you will hear when you listen to it, he sang folk songs of the day as well as some Scottish ditties. Here are the tracks:
The second is an LP “Seasons” that he recorded in the early 1980’s. He co-wrote two songs, “Seasons Come, Seasons Go” and “I’d Rather Live Alone With Me”. As you know, country music originated from folk music of the British Isles and Alex enjoyed both listening to and playing it. This album is a combination of country music as well as some traditional Scottish folk songs. You can find Seasons here.
